Serving with joy and passion

Our Vision

Swakopmund Christian Academy

A vision is commonly defined as:

  • The ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.
  • A mental image of what the future will or could be like.

The Vision statement of Swakopmund Christian Academy:

  1. Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22: 6)
  2. We empower our students with everything necessary and inspire one another to take thoughtful action.

There are four ideas in this statement. Involving parents and the community is an important principle of quality, both in and out of the classroom. Student empowerment is built on child-centered learning, valuing the student voice and giving them choices about how and what they learn. Inspiration is a wonderful aspiration to make the process of learning fun and exciting. As a result of the new knowledge and understanding our students acquire we want them to apply this learning to the real world. Thoughtful action ensures that our students think about the method, consequences and sustainability of their actions.

Our Mission

Swakopmund Christian Academy

A mission is commonly defined as:

  • An important assignment given to a person or group of people, typically involving travel abroad.
  • The vocation or calling of a religious organization, especially a Christian one, to go out into the world and spread its faith.
  • A strongly felt aim, ambition, or calling.

The Swakopmund Christian Academy’s Mission in short form:

Our mission is to provide excellence in education through a caring and diverse environment that encourages the holistic development of each student as part of our mandate. We prepare students with the means to succeed in a challenging world.

Extended form:

We believe and understand that:

  1. We have received our mandate as a direct [i]commission from God, and
  2. It is our privilege, accountability, calling and ministry, which we deem as the reasonable service we are to perform, to educate the children entrusted to our care.
  3. Our parents, by enrolling their children, acknowledge God’s ownership of the school and His authority over the school, furthermore become the secondary source of our mandate.

Our mandate:

In the light from Whom we received our mandate, we realise that our mandate is twofold and that it consists of:

  1. Teaching Biblical Truth as final authority in the learners’ lives,
    1. Which is not to be viewed as an optional preference but as our responsibility, accountability and authority to [ii]train up children in Godly ways
    2. While we are not to only inspire in them an understanding of good moral values, like [iii]Pharisees, but to [iv]build into them the truths that will help them receive an understanding of God’s saving grace
  2. Assisting them in gaining academic knowledge to enable them for their future,
    1. Which academic knowledge is subjected to all Biblical Truth, and
    2. According to the National Curriculum Statement as set for Namibia.

As members of the School Board we will endeavour to:

  1. Set a personal example, that by neither word nor action we may bring dishonour to the Triune God we believe in as set out according to our Statement of Faith.
  2. Provide the guidance under which all staff will come to understand and comply with the school’s mandate.
  3. Provide a stable and secure environment in which
    1. Parents will feel comfortable to leave their children, while
    2. Learners will be able to achieve both Spiritual and academic growth.

The school will continuously strive to build up the [v]Body of our Lord Jesus Christ and to do whatever it takes to achieve this objective.

Our Statement
Of Faith

Swakopmund Christian Academy

 Statement of Faith

We believe:

  1. The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God. We accept it as our supreme final authority in matters of faith, conduct and life.

  1. There is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Also identified in the Bible as the God of Israel, and besides Him there is no other God. All others named as god are fake idols, and gods made after man’s imagination.

  1. In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, who, though equally God, for the purpose of redemption, became a Man. He is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, truly crucified where he physically died, was buried, physically raised from the dead, taken up into heaven, and now at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.

  1. That the devil, or Satan, is a real personality, originally a created being, who, as a result of his transgression, was cast out of the presence of God, and now is the enemy of God, man and every true believer.

  1. That God, created the heavens, the earth, all the plants, animals and man (in His own image) in six literal days.

  1. That sin entered the world through, Adam, bringing spiritual, physical and eternal death upon the entire human race. Further, that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

  1. That God provided for fallen man’s redemption, through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the ransom price for the death penalty incurred through sin, which God’s holiness and justice demanded for the release of the sinner.

  1. That God justifies the sinner through faith in Jesus Christ alone. This is an act of God’s free grace, whereby the sinner is absolved from the guilt of his past transgressions and receives a free pardon and forgiveness of all his sins, on the sole grounds of repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ, and His substitutionary death: the righteousness of God is accredited to the sinner and he enters into peace with God: He is reconciled to God.

  1. That the believing sinner is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, which is the imparting by the Holy Spirit of the Divine nature into the heart of the believer, making him a new creature in Christ.

  1. That the believer is enjoined to live a holy life, yielded to God and continually growing in the knowledge of Christ. Those who are led by the Spirit of God they are the children of God the Spirit of God is the Spirit of wisdom that comes from above. The Holy Spirit brings forth much fruit in the life of those who have crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts thereof.

  1. In the Church of Jesus Christ composed of believers from every generation, tribe, language and race. The church as a whole has a visible expression in the local church of which every believer should be a part.

  1. In the personal, literal, Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign on earth and to resurrect the believer to everlasting life and the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting punishment.

With regard to the above statements, we not only believe them to be true, but also will endeavour to uphold, preach, teach, and obey these.
